Today, I continued my footrace between neighboring venture events--the University Private Equity Summit (UPES) and the dress rehearsal for the Investors Choice Conference hosted by the Wayne Brown Institute. Tim and Easton have covered the UPES event completely.
What I saw at the dress rehearsal was another roster (see comments from yesterday) of great early stage companies that are looking to raise $1 to $10 million of capital. These include an endpoint network security company, a digital home technology firm, a child protection and tracking company, a near field magnetic induction communications equipment company, an enterprise-wide goal management system, an electronic text book technology company and a low cost customer and employee feedback ASP.
The conference on February 9 should be a great event, not only for venture firms and angel investors, but it is a great event for entrepreneurs. The presenting entrepreneurs will be pitching their deals to an audience eager to hear it. There may be little better preparation for entrepreneurs than to watch other entrepreneurs and investors interacting. It is an education all on its own.
Will you tell me about your business?
