If a tree falls in the forest...?

The old saw asks, if a tree falls in the forest, was there a sound?  The question arises from junior high school science, which explains that to complete a sound, there nust be a receptor.  If no one hears the sound, apparently it doesn't exist.  forest.jpgThe same may be true of blogs. If no one reads your blog, was there a post?

So, I was very excited when one of the Know More Media founders came to me with the story of Know More in hopes that our firm could help raise some growth capital for the company.  The magic of Know More Media is traffic.  They bring an audience--perhaps not immediately, but I've seen what these guys can do. There will be an audience. I confess, I was more excited about the possibility of authoring a blog for them than I was to be their banker!

After a few short weeks, Know More did choose Thorpe Capital Group to represent them in their capital raising efforts. While one might expect that if my firm was good enough to represent them, I'd be good enough to blog for them, but I felt more carefully screened to be a Know More author than to become the Know More investment banker.

In this context, I'm sure my attorneys would remind me to note that this blog is not an offer to sell any security, nor a soliciation of an offer to buy any security. Furthermore, such an offer would only be made under appropriate exemptions from registration...

Devin,
I found your blog today as I was looking at the blogging requirements. I noticed there were some open spots under "entrepreneur".

Anyway, love that line: If no one reads your blog, was there a post? I like to say my blog is for me, my mind made searchable. However, you know that the fun part is when people comment. When you start forming a community.

I'll add you to my bloglines.

Best
Janet
