"What's your reason?" Seth asks, after explaining that the reason so many things are done the way they are is determined by archaic patterns (my favorite being that the QWERTY keyboard pattern was driven by the need to put frequently used letters far apart so that the typewriter wouldn't jam so often--I'm old enough to remember jamming the typewriter).
I love the thought question, though. What is my reason?
I blog because I have something to say.
I blog for Know More Media because KMM helps provide an audience. (See my "if a tree falls... post.)
I'm an investment banker because it is what I know how to do and I love helping businesses grow and entrepreneurs succeed and realize value from their efforts.
I sometimes mentor start-up entrepreneurs for free because they can't pay me enough for my time.
I
generally work with later-stage businesses for a fee because they can pay me enough.
I golf because I think investment bankers are supposed to golf.
I stink at it because I don't have a lick of athletic ability, I'm stocky (really stocky), I don't practice enough, oh, and I don't invest enough in equipment. Mostly it's the equipment.
What's your reason? Interesting question, isn't it.
