
The Washington Post today ran an unusual obituary today, reporting that the last telegram was sent last Friday, bringing an end to 162 years of the telegraph.
Unasked and unanswered by the article are the following questions that occur to me:
1) Will the Internet (or television, jet travel, e-mail, or other "modern" technology) be so effectively replaced by superior technologies that someday we will be able to mark its definitive end?
2) Who among modern entrepreneurs will be remember among the pantheon of world changing technologists like Samuel B. Morse? Bill Gates? Steve Jobs? Larry Ellison?
I'd really love your thoughts on these questions!
