The report notes that there were no IPOs during the first quarter of 2006 in Utah.Utah Companies raised over $72 million in venture capital and private equity.
There was more than $10 billion of M&A transactions involving Utah companies, including the $9.4 billion sale of Utah Power. Excluding the Utah Power transaction, the average M&A deal in Utah was $85 million.
The MWCN Deal Flow team will continue to research more transactions, with the anticipated result that even more deals will be reported. Furthermore, due to privacy concerns, the MWCN believes that fewer than half of the deals completed in Utah are reported.
