No one in our family had been there before. It was quite interesting to see this beautiful, traditional college campus positioned like an island in Harlem. The immediate neighborhood, there in Morningside Heights, provides beautiful context for the campus. Dayton's reaction to the Columbia campus tour and info session was quite positive, again trumping his perception of Penn, but not topping his reaction to Princeton. He certainly plans to apply and could even consider applying on an early decision basis.
I'd love to have Dayton in school in New York because I travel there regularly and thus would have a chance to visit my son.
While I have never spent time at Columbia as a student, I too have visited the campus and sat through several individual class sessions as a visitor. I was impressed as well and plan to apply to their Graduate program this fall. Dayton must have pretty good taste in schools!
