Utah has an annual state holiday, called "Pioneer Day" on July 24, which celebrates the arrival of the Mormon Pioneers to Utah in 1847. The holiday is celebrated with equal furvor to the celebration of the 4th of July--which is a big deal in Utah.

As a result, July is the month in which Utahns take their summer vacations. Business is slow all month. It is a lot like my experience in DC in August when Congress traditionally adjourns and the President goes on vacation.

So, from Utah in the middle of a month of vacations, enjoy your summer break--whenever you take it!
