Craig's list is an interesting choice. Even after reading the post is isn't altogether clear to me whether Craig's list is a for-profit business. It employs a paltry 19 people and generates a modest $20 million or so in revenue. Its reach and influence, however, is much larger.
Nisan's case study is a thoughtful result of research and interviews. For his Craig's List case study, not surprisingly, he interview Craig Newmark.
Nisan's analysis and observations are certainly worth the investment of time required to read him.

Hi Devin,
Thanks for the kind comments regarding my blog - I look forward to hearing your comments in the future. Just to be clear, Craigslist is not run as a for-profit company. Craig treats the company as a public service; they are unconcerned about growing revenues or profits. They put the best interests of the community first, revenues are a byproduct of that goal.
