 Mr. Noorda founded Novell (Nasdaq: NOVL) in 1983 and ran the company until 1994. After his retirement, he founded the Canopy Group, a information technology focused venture fund.  Born in Utah, Mr. Noorda attended Weber State College and, after a two-year tour of duty in the Navy during World War II, he finished his college education at the University of Utah, graduating Cum Laude.Mr. Noorda reportedly died of Alzheimer's disease.
