His primary theme was that wimax technology will provide the wireless bandwidth to drive mobile computing. Focusing on YouTube as an indication of demand for video on our computers, he suggests that full multi-media capabilities on mobile devices (phones, blackberries--not just laptops) will be the next big wave. He asserts that this will have the same impact on the economy as the Internet. He could be wrong on that and this wave would still be huge!
Sriram concluded with three imperatives:- innovation in platforms, batteries, displays, power/thermal and graphics.
