The Utah Jazz have the best record in the NBA. After winning 9 of their first ten games, folks started talking about the Jazz. Much of the commentary suggested that the team wasn't for real--just lucky. There is a lot of ball to be played, but tonight the Jazz beat the Lakers. After being there for the game, I would have to argue that the Jazz are for real.
If you are not a Jazz fan, I challenge you to name three players on our team. I'm betting most basketball fans can't name one. Even for Jazz fans this is even tough. For an entire generation, we were accostomed to having brand name players, (Stockton and Malone) leading our team.
Watching the Jazz play today, was like watching a clinic in team work, more passing, more plays, more energy and effort than I ever recall seeing in a Jazz team. It was real teamwork, not just working to get the ball inside to a single big man that we rely upon to lead the team.
I know less about basketball than football--and that's not much--but I think the Jazz can take any team in the league when they play like they played tonight.
This isn't just relevant to sports fans. I'm reminded of the recent MWCN Utah 100 awards. Every year the winners attribute their success to one thing: the team.
With that in mind, which sports role most closely parallels that of the entrepreneur? The coach, the quarterback, the pitcher, the goalie, the point guard, the center, the power forward? What do you think?

Do you have season tickets? I'm at a lot of the home games myself because I work on the media relations staff during games.
