This Thursday I have the privilege of participating in a panel discussion at the MountainWest Capital Network monthly luncheon. The panel consists of the team involved in the sale of English Language Learning and Instruction System (ELLIS).
Rohit Patel, the CEO of Ellis will be there to participate, along with Brad Jacobson and Tom Taylor of Holme Roberts & Owen, the lead counsel. I'm happy to represent Thorpe Capital Group on the panel.
Prior to the sale of ELLIs to Pearson Publishing, ELLIS officers and directors decided to take the company "dark" by filing with the SEC to suspend its public reporting. Rohit will discuss how going private helped prepare the company for a successful exit.
We'll also walk through the ultimate transaction to give MWCN members and guests an idea of the challenges faced and overcome to complete the deal.
The event starts at noon at the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. To register for the event, visit the MWCN web site or contact Cheri at info@mwcn.org.
