Utah Business announced today that it has made James Lee Sorenson its CEO of the Year.
I had the pleasure of learning this from Jim (notice how I refer to him as Jim like he's my brother-in-law--that's Mr. Sorenson) a few weeks ago when I ran into him at lunch at a quickie lunch counter downtown.
That, I suppose is one of the most remarkable things about him. I've met Jim several times (though I doubt I've made the impression on him that he's made on me) and he's always just a down-to-earth guy.
He's also polished, smart as can be and perhaps the most successful guy I know.

Well deserved.....for someone that has had a nice tailwind in life, he has managed to do very well on his own. By this I mean many people born into an environment like he was don't have the ambition and drive that he obviously has.
