Jack Brittain, Dean of the David Eccles School of Business and Vice President of Technology Venture Development for the University of Utah, presented the Pathfinder Award to Dr. Homer Warner. The University notes:
Dr. Warner is one of a handful of individuals who founded the field of biomedical informatics. He was the first chair of the Department of Medical Informatics at the University of Utah, the first medical school in the U.S. to formally organize a degree in medical informatics and has pioneered many aspects of computer applications to medicine.
