Stephon Marbury of the New York Knicks has partnered with Steve & Barry's to produce and market a $15 retail basketball brand of basketball shoe called Starbury's. What parent wouldn't love to have her kid come home begging for a $15 pair of shoes instead of a $200 pair.
Starbury as Stephon is apparently known, is not spending much on marketing, but the word of mouth, word of blog and word of YouTube is providing enough PR to generate sales in the millions of units.
