Unitus, a global microfinance organization, has launched a fundraising initiative that gives donors an opportunity to write a tribute to a special woman.  The theme is "Unitus is Empowering Women." 

The subtle word play suggests that Unitus is not just in the business of empowering micro entrepreneurs (most of whom are women) but is made up of women who are empowering others.

I really got into the spirit of the thing and wrote a tribute to my wife, Gail Thorpe, who is a school teacher who generously empowers others.  And then I gave Unitus small donation.
