I just got off the phone with Kevin at Support.com. Kevin fixed my computer. This is remarkable. How many times have you asked someone, a friend, colleague, tech support or someone else, to fix your computer only to have it not be fixed.
My USB ports had stopped responding properly, so I was expecting to have to take the computer somewhere to have it fixed. When I googled for computer repair, an ad for Support.com came up.
I figured it was worth the try. Kevin told me when I called that if he couldn't fix the problem, there would be no charge. Perfect.
So I logged on to their site, downloaded some software to allow Kevin to take over my computer and then I watched TV for an hour while Kevin fixed my computer.
I figure Support.com saved me a couple of hours of running back and forth to the computer repair shop and from being without a computer for a few days.
Their fees range from $29 to $99; mine was $99. It was well worth it.
Bottom line: I recommend Support.com.
Do you have any other secret resources I should know about?
